Since 2006, NECN and the Office of Civic and Community Life have partnered to provide grants to neighborhood and community organizations working to make Northeast Portland a stronger, more inclusive community. We have funded dozens of innovative projects that have collectively improved the quality of life in our area and brought its residents closer together. 

The average grant size is $3,000 per applicant. See below for a list of our past grantees.

What we look for

Funding rounds take place annually, and are awarded based on a project's potential to: 

  • Involve and benefit a diverse group of people

  • Build leadership skills, relationships and partnerships, especially with and among underrepresented groups

  • Increase community capacity to influence public decisions and shape the future of Inner North/Northeast Portland

  • Create unique projects with the potential to make an impact in communities large and small
