Since 2006, NECN and the Office of Civic and Community Life have partnered to provide grants to neighborhood and community organizations working to make Northeast Portland a stronger, more inclusive community. We have funded dozens of innovative projects that have collectively improved the quality of life in our area, and brought its residents closer together.
Grants given are up to $2,000 per applicant.
The 2019 grant cycle is now closed. the application cycle for 2020 will open again in fall 2019.

We offer one-on-one workshops for potential applicants to work with one of our grant coordinators to help develop project ideas and for assistance making your application stronger.
Meetings are appointment-only and take place at our office with one of our grant coordinators during regular business hours.
What we look for
Funding rounds take place annually, and are awarded based on a project's potential to:
Involve and benefit a diverse group of people
Build leadership skills, relationships and partnerships, especially with and among underrepresented groups
Increase community capacity to influence public decisions and shape the future of Inner North/Northeast Portland
Create unique projects with the potential to make an impact in communities large and small
